Questions, answered
What can my child see with it?
Surface details: leaf veins, moss, insect legs, feathers, fabric threads, salt and sugar crystals. It isn't made for cell slides that need a desk microscope.
Is it hard to use?
No. Hold it flat over the thing you want to see, switch on the light, turn one wheel to zoom and the other to focus. It takes a minute to learn; younger kids may need a hand finding the focus at first.
Does it need batteries?
Yes, for the LED light. A grown-up should fit and change them and keep spares out of children's reach. In good daylight you can look with the light off.
What age is it for?
It's made for school-age kids who can hold it steady and turn a focus wheel. Younger children can use it with an adult. Not for children under 3 — small parts.
How does the phone bracket work?
Clip your phone into the bracket and line the camera up over the eyepiece. Then take photos or video of what you see.
Does it come in pink?
Not at the moment: it comes in white or blue.
